Step 1. Make sure you meet the basic rowing requirements:

Age requirement: You must be over 18 to row with the club.

Lifting requirement: We carry our quad boats to and from the lake for each row. This means you must be able to:

  • lift approximately 30 pounds up and over your head;

  • carry that amount of weight on your shoulder to the dock;

  • bend and squat to place the boat gently in the water and to enter the boat.

Swimming requirement: Although it is highly unlikely that you will flip a boat in our program, for your own safety, you must be able to swim a short distance and tread water for 2 minutes in order to join the club.

Step 2. Fill out the application form.

Step 3. Once you have completed your application:

  • Pay using the PayPal link below.

  • Submit your payment within 72 hours to secure your place in the session.

Step 4. Download and fill out the US Rowing form below and bring it to your first Learn-to-Row session.

Step 5. Read through the Learn to Row procedures.

Learn the basic steps of rowing with an experienced coach.

Personalized Coaching

Coaches and Masters members will help you refine your rowing technique.

(RPRA club members over the age of 18 are Masters members.)

Optional Follow-Up Sessions

Private coaching sessions are available upon request to give you more experience on the water.
